PM Najib arrives for CNY celebrations in Penang
GEORGE TOWN: Thousands of people gathered outside the Penang Chinese Town Hall (PCTH) to welcome the arrival of prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and other dignitaries as they joined 500 others for the annual Chinese New Year get together.
Najib, clad in a red-coloured traditional Chinese outfit, posed for a photograph with local leaders, in a yearly PCTH tradition, with his fists clenched in a Chinese New Year greeting gesture.
He then witnessed a 10 minute lion dance together with other leaders present.
Also present were Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas, his wife Toh Puan Majimor Shariff and former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, among others.
