Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, spearheading BN's election campaign, continues to spew venom on his critics, this time throwing back the wide-held criticisms of his racist remarks at his opponents.
In his latest outburst, Mahathir attempted to rubbish a libel suit against him by DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang.
“Catch me, and drag me to court. I will repeat, (DAP advisor) Lim Kit Siang is racist and he is really racist,” Mahathir was quoted as saying by the BN-controlled national news agency Bernama.
He was responding to DAP chairman Karpal Singh’s warning that the new Pakatan Rakyat government would arrest and charge the 87-year old in court for defaming Lim.
Mahathir earlier wrote on his blog that Lim’s victory in Gelang Patah against former Johor Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman, would lead to racial confrontation.
He even said Lim’s presence in Gelang Patah was to create conflict between Malays and Chinese.
Saying PR component parties were racist, the UMNO strongman said BN parties were not.
