Parti Keadilan Rakyat (KEADILAN) is pleased to announce that two candidates from Parti Sosialis Malaysia, Dr Nasir Hashim and Dr D Jeyakumar will run under KEADILAN logo in Kota Damansara (N39) and Sungai Siput (P62) respectively.
Letters authorising them as KEADILAN candidates have been signed by KEADILAN president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and will be handed over to them. Our sole condition is that Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) will not contest against Pakatan Rakyat in three-corner fights in any other seats.
In 2008, PSM ran three seats (Sungai Siput, Kota Damansara and Semenyih) under KEADILAN, and one as independent in Jelapang in a three-corner fight with DAP and BN. Under KEADILAN, they won Sungai Siput and Kota Damansara, but lost Semenyih.
In the case of negotiations between KEADILAN and PSM this round, they will retain two out of the three seats they contested under KEADILAN in 2008. In all negotiations, we win some and lose some. We believe that PSM can understand this and will not contest against Pakatan Rakyat in three-corner fights in any other seats.
We hope that PSM and KEADILAN/Pakatan Rakyat can set our differences aside, refrain from three-corner fights, and work together towards our common cause to oppose Umno/Barisan Nasional so we can advance the peoples’ interest, and bring about much need change and reforms.
