Attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail will not prosecute former Court of Appeal judge Mohd Noor Abdullah for sedition for his remarks last week, says former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Mat Zain Ibrahim.
He added, the people cannot expect Gani (right) to initiate prosecution against Mohd Noor because the retired judge had a hand in clearing Gani and former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan from any criminal wrongdoings in the Anwar Ibrahim's "black-eye incident"."Mohd Noor is one of the three former senior judges, appointed as members of the so-called independent panel to scrutinise the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's investigation files on the allegation against Gani, Musa, Kuala Lumpur Hospital doctor Dr Abdul Rahman Yusof and myself," Mat Zain said in a statement today.
The other two members were former Federal Court judge Abdul Kadir Sulaiman and former Court of Appeal judge Mohd Noor Ahmad.
In a 2-1 majority decision, the panel cleared Gani, with Abdul Kadir, who headed the panel, dissenting.
