Following the challenge by Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan, Pakatan Rakyat has decided to invite Election Commission (EC) chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof to brief the opposition coalition over allegations of fraud and irregularity during the May 5 general election.
The matter was agreed upon during Pakatan's secretariat council meeting today.
PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution said the invitation to Abdul Aziz (left) to meet with Pakatan will be sent soon.“I hope that Abdul Aziz will not reject the invitation from Pakatan.
“If Abdul Aziz does (reject it), then we hope that Ahmad will play a role in ensuring the EC chairperson’s presence.
“Now we kick the ball to the EC for Abdul Aziz to face us,” Saifuddi said.
Yesterday, Ahmad was reported to have challenged Pakatan to invite Abdul Aziz to answer allegations of alleged electoral fraud and irregularities.
