Pakatan wants review in 27 seats

Pakatan wants review in 27 seats
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) strategic director Rafizi Ramli said today his SiasatPRU13 team will be focusing investigations on 27 parliamentary seats.
He said the team he headed to investigate claims of election irregularities for Pakatan Rakyat (PR) found these to be places with a high probability for election petitions being filed in coming days.
Nineteen of the seats were contested by PKR, and the rest by PR coalition partners DAP and PAS.
The seats are Bentong in Pahang; Kuala Selangor, Sungai Besar, Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam in Selangor; Baram, Kota Marudu and Saratok in Sarawak; Pasir Gudang, Labis, Tebrau, Segamat, Muar, Ledang and Pulai in Johor; Machang and Ketereh in Kelantan; Titiwangsa and Setiawangsa in Kuala Lumpur; Bagan Serai and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; Balik Pulau in Penang; Kulim Bandar Bharu, Pendang and Merbok in Kedah; and Beaufort and Pensiangan in Sabah.
237 reports of fraud
Rafizi said he received 237 reports of irregularities which have been classified in four categories:
- Margin of win below 5%;
- Spoilt votes outnumber the small margin of win;
- Early and postal votes outnumber the margin of win garnered from normal votes, to the extent that it affected the results of the normal votes;
- Seats with reports of alleged fraud.
"Once we go through all the evidence and have interviewed every person who filed a report with us, we will take it up to Bersih's people's tribunal.
"Second, we shall organise all the information so that we can file election petitions for the affected areas," he told a press conference at the PKR headquarters today.
Rafizi said more than 25 police reports have been made by individuals alleging election fraud.
He said evidence would be presented to the media.
"We shall also call up witnesses to expose all they know to the media, and allow the media to scrutinise the evidence," he said.
In the last general election, Barisan Nasional won 133 parliamentary seats while PR, consisting of PAS, DAP and PKR, won 89 seats.
Had PR won the 27 seats, it would have been able to form the federal government with a simple majority.
