Pakatan will face any challenge on election petitions

Pakatan Rakyat is willing to face any election petition or challenge that is mounted against its wins in Penang, Selangor and Kelantan.

Speaking to reporters today, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said that, to his knowledge, there has been no dispute.

dap special meeting 110313 lim kit siang 2"If there is a compelling (case) against seats won by the DAP, PAS or PKR, we are prepared to open up. But there is none. There is not one,” he after the Pakatan Rakyat leadership council meeting.

Also present at the press conference held after the Pakatan leadership council meeting was DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang (right), who said that those accusing Pakatan of hypocrisy over the claims of fraud are mistaken.

He added that what Pakatan is questioning is not the entire polls, but the credibility of the results in 30 parliamentary seats where there are "serious allegations of fraud and irregularities".

'No basis for Najib to be PM'

"If these are proven and these 30 seats taken away from (BN's) majority, that leaves 103 seats and (BN chief Najib Abdul Razak) has no basis to be PM," he noted.

Lim stressed that it is imperative for Najib and the Election Commission (EC) to respond, given the massive outrage, particularly among the youth voters.

One of the best ways to do so, he said, is for the cabinet - which is to be announced at 5pm - to call for a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on the alleged electoral fraud.

"The EC is in the dock, and the membership of the RCI panel must be agreed upon by Pakatan and the BN.

"Only then will we be making some way towards (addressing) the outrage among Malaysians that this election has been stolen," he added.
