KUALA LUMPUR - Some 20 "Black 505" supporters marked the week's second flash mob in the city to urge people to attend the planned Opposition rally at Padang Merbok here on June 22.
Participants wearing Black 505 bandanas and carrying Pakatan Rakyat flags and placards gathered the outskirts of the Masjid Jamek LRT station at around 6pm Wednesday.
The group shouted slogans and even sat down on the pavement under the LRT line in the middle of Jalan Tun Perak.
Traffic along the stretch remained clear under the watch of several police personnel.
Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) propaganda director Edy Noor Reduanand said flash mob participants were told to gather in different areas in groups of no more than four people.
"Today is just a spontaneous act by people and I guarantee that there are no more than four people in any area.
"Therefore, they (police) have no right to detain us. If they want to detain, do it on June 22," Edy Noor said.
Final flash mob on Friday at 5pm
SAMM Federal Territories coordinator Shariful Azmir Mustafa added that the group and other non-governmental organisations would stage one final flash mob in the city at 5pm on Friday.
"We will start in Sogo, come here (Masjid Jamek) and then finish off in front of the KL/Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.
"And we will go all out, whatever happens, happens," he said.
The rally is to protest against alleged electoral fraud and irregularities during GE13 and call for the resignation of all election commissioners.
Last Saturday, 15 people were arrested by police for disrupting the peace, during a short-lived flash mob outside Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman near the Sogo shopping conplex, around 2.50pm.
