'Liar Liow' to spearhead blueprint to transform MCA

'Liar Liow' to spearhead blueprint to transform MCA
MCA will draw up a blueprint to transform the party to garner more supporters and expunge any misconceptions.
Its deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the blueprint will be ready at the end of August and will be presented to the party's central committee.
"We have set up a committee which will tour the country to gather feedback from non-governmental organisations, branch and divisional leaders as well as the public," he said when contacted yesterday.
"Among the discussions that will take place during the period will be the Chinese party's loss of confidence in the party, mechanisms to consolidate efforts among party members and the suggestion to turn Barisan Nasional into a single party," he said.
"The committee will be headed by me, former deputy education minister Datuk Wee Ka Siong, former higher education deputy minister Dr Hou Kok Chung, MCA women bureau chief Datuk Yu Chok Tow and Datuk Chua Tee Yong."
Chua is MCA's Young Professional Bureau chief and the former agriculture and agro-based industries minister.
Liow was elaborating on the matter which was announced on Saturday in his parliamentary constituency of Bentong, where he said that MCA would move forward with other BN component parties in its post-GE13 plans serve the people.
Earlier, DAP chairman Karpal Singh had said MCA should take stock of its poor showing in the last general election instead of blaming DAP for its losses.
"MCA is to be blamed for its dismal results in the GE13. Blaming DAP for its defeat is not the way out," he said when contacted yesterday.
In the May 5 polls, MCA won only seven parliamentary and 11 state seats out of the 37 parliamentary and 90 seats which it contested.
