No foul play in Karuna's death, says cops
Negeri Sembilan police chief Osman Salleh said that there was no signs of foul play involved in the death of P Karuna Nithi, who died in police custody yesterday evening.
“The post mortem report is not yet out so I can’t comment further. We have classified the case as sudden death, there is no foul play,” said Osman, according to Astro Awani.
Osman declined to provide further details.
Karuna was arrested last Monday after he allegedly assaulted his wife. He was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code on Friday for causing hurt by dangerous means.
According to former Kapar MP S Manikavasagam, who is helping Karuna's family, the deceased could not raise RM4,000 needed for bail the and his family members were supposed to post bail tomorrow.
But before they could, they were informed of Karuna's death last night.
