Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Azmin Ali has denied that the party had any plans to boycott the swearing-in ceremony of Members of Parliament (MP) at the Dewan Rakyat on June 24. He stated that the only boycott that was planned was for the parliamentary briefing on June 11, a decision that was agreed to by all component parties of Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
This concurred with a statement made a few days earlier by PAS vice president, Mahfuz Omar, that PR had only agreed to boycott the parliamentary briefing session in protest against the massive fraud and cheating perpetrated by the BN in the last general elections.
Azmin reiterated that all PKR elected MPs will attend the swearing-in ceremony and vigorously exercise their duties as the duly elected representative of the people.
BN-owned mainstream media as well as online media reports of late have openly suggested that PKR was planning to boycott the parliamentary swearing-in ceremony, breaking ranks with her other PR coalition partners - PAS and DAP - both of which had stated that they would attend the ceremony.
