Tajuddin defends 'Karpal for president' remarks
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Deputy Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said his statement about DAP chairperson Karpal Singh during a ceramah in Kuala Besut, Terengganu was based on his observations on the actions of the party.
"Why should he (Karpal) react so hastily to it. My views were based on what the DAP had been doing all this while and the rapport between the party and the People's Action party (PAP) in Singapore," he said after the breaking of fast for his ministry in Putrajaya last night.
He was asked to comment on Karpal's police report today against his statement on July 14, claiming it was seditious.
Tajuddin was claimed to have said that Karpal could become the first president of Malaysia if voters in Kuala Besut allowed the DAP to gain control of Putrajaya through PAS.
