HOW ARROGANT! Unhappy with education system? Send your kids overseas then - minister
Those who have no confidence in the country’s education system as outlined in the National Education Blueprint can send their children to study abroad, said Education Minister II Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh (pic).
“If some people feel the system is not good and want to send their children overseas to study, the government cannot stop them. But the Ministry will work towards improving the country’s education system," said Idris after a forum in Shah Alam today.
“We cannot please everyone, we have our own objectives and we will continue to implement them. It is not my own decision before we came up with this blueprint.
"We have sat down and discussed this with thousands of experts. There will no stopping us from implementing the National Education Blueprint."
The new National Education Blueprint was launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Sept 6.
The Dong Zong (United Chinese School Committees Association) is planning to take the Ministry to court for its plan to increase the teaching hours of Bahasa Malaysia in all schools.
It was reported last week that Dong Zong and some other Chinese groups may take legal action against the Education Ministry, including holding peaceful rallies, should the National Education Blueprint 2013-2025 remain detrimental to Chinese education.
