BERSIH TRIBUNAL PKR's defeated Chenderiang state seat candidate Amani Willians-Hunts Abdullah claimed that he was blocked by Rela personnel from campaigning during the 13th general election.
Testifying before the People's Tribunal in Subang Jaya today, Amani (left) said he had attempted to enter an Orang Asli village on the eve of polling day.
"But there were four Rela members waiting at the entrance who prevented us from entering.
"They said that the opposition was not allowed to campaign in the village," said Amani, who is an Orang Asli himself.
Amani said despite insisting for a reason, the four Rela officers were only able to say that there were instructions from "higher-ups".
"I did not want a confrontation, so we left after about 10 minutes of argument," he said.
Prior to campaigning, Amani added, he could enter the village without problems and even conduct activities there.

‘One voter, two ballots’
Another witness to take the stand was Mohd Fadhli Khaharruddin, 23 whose attempt to test the electoral system by obtaining a second ballot on polling day had been widely publicised.
“After voting in the morning, I had my lunch, washed my hand and the indelible ink was gone.
“I then went back to the same place for a second time and was issued another ballot paper,” he testified.
Mohd Fadhli said the clerk manning stream four at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Isap, Kuantan issued him the ballot paper even though he had already voted.
“I took the second ballot paper and looked for a police officer at the polling station,” he said.
Mohd Fadhli said he was informed by the police that the polling stream had used two list of electoral roll names, thus his name was not crossed out on one of the lists the first time he voted.
However, he said no further action was taken beyond that.
