It is shocking that Education Minister II Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh has said that those who have no confidence in the country’s education system as outlined in the National Education Blueprint can send their children to study abroad.
How can a Minister adopt such an attitude and make such ridiculous remarks? This is totally unacceptable.
Such remarks are unbecoming of a Minister of an important portfolio.
Nobody expects any or all government policies to be able to please everyone, but no Minister must say ridiculous remarks like what he did.
Let me ask Idris two questions.
Former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir introduced the Teaching of of Maths and Science in English (PPSMI) policy in 1996. The policy did not please everyone, so my first question is could Mahathir tell those people who were not happy to send their children to study abroad?
