MB Khalid: It was PKNS that didn't want Azmin

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has stressed that neither he nor the state executive council were involved in not renewing the contract of Selangor PKR chief Azmin Ali as director of the State Development Corporation (PKNS).

Rather, the decision was made on the instruction of PKNS general manager Othman Omar, who is due to complete his tenure at the end of this month.

Abdul Khalid (right) said the state government will declassify and publicly release a document dated Dec 4, 2013 to prove this in the next fortnight.

"The decision was not made by the exco, but by the PKNS general manager. It was not political,” he told reporters after an exco meeting today.

"The letter (to not renew Azmin's contract) was issued by the general manager to Azmin and was copied to the exco. Azmin accepted the decision, so the exco accepted it, too."
