Dr Mahathir Mohamad has described his former heir apparent turned nemesis Anwar Ibrahim as being full of drama.
He said this when asked to comment on Anwar challenging his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the PKR president post.
"This is a drama. Anwar always stages such dramas. He has always lived a dramatic life.
"He can be PM (prime minister), on stage of course. He has done many things, everything is a drama," the ex-premier was quoted as saying by Bernama.
Mahathir also said that the "husband and wife contest" was a political gimmick that had a certain motive.
On another matter, he said PAS has the right to introduce a private motion on the Hudud Law in the Dewan Rakyat.
However, Mahathir said the decision on the motion was up to the members of the Dewan Rakyat.
"If the majority (of them) support, yes, but I do not know whether this (motion) needs a 2/3 majority or not.
"It puts both DAP and Umno in a very embarrassing position," he added.
The Kelantan PAS government through PAS members of parliament was reported to have introduced the private motion bill (on the Hudud Law) at the Dewan Rakyat to seek permission to implement the Syariah Criminal Code Enactment (2) 1993 by December at the latest.
The decision was a follow-up to the willingness of the federal government which gave way to any state government to enforce the Hudud Law in their respective state.
