Perak girl, 26, falls to her death after French boyfriend, 24, told her he wanted to work abroad

GEORGE TOWN - A woman has been found dead at the first-floor landing of her condominium block in Pulau Tikus.

Air hostess training agent Khong Chen Yee, who was supposed to turn 26 tomorrow, was found lying face down at an open space on the first floor of the block in Persiaran Midlands.

According to a source, she was believed to have fallen from the balcony of her unit on the 23rd floor at about 10pm on Wednesday.

Khong, from Menglembu in Perak, was said to be upset when her 24-year-old French boyfriend of two years broke the news to her in her bedroom that he intended to work abroad.

She threatened to jump. He tried to calm her down and left the room to ask her two housemates for help, but they had gone out for dinner.

The source said Khong was found dead shortly after.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the case had been classified as sudden death.

"There were no scratches or signs of a struggle on the boyfriend's body," he said.

It is learnt that Khong's boyfriend used to work for her father in Ipoh, and her parents were aware of their relationship.

Family members and friends were too distraught to speak to the press when met at the Penang Hospital mortuary yesterday. -Asiaone
