Hours after his appointment today as the new Selangor Menteri Besar, Mohamed Azmin Ali pledged to manage the state with transparency.
In a maiden speech at his house in Kampung Klang Gate Baru where he grew up, Azmin promised to work hard and take care of the people in Selangor.
"I also give my word that I will carry out my duties with trust and integrity," he told the crowd gathered at his mother's house.
Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, said the RM3 billion reserves in Selangor will be used for the interest of the people.
"Every single sen of the state fund belongs to the people. The money must be translated into developmental programmes for the good of the people of this state," the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman said.
