Umno Youth Exco tells the sex blogger to stop hiding behind the keyboard.
PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth Exco, Sheikh Nafiq Alfirdaous Sheikh Abd Rahman dared sex blogger Alvin Tan, who wrote offensive posts regarding Malaysia’s top leaders on Facebook, to come back to face the music.
“We hope that Alvin who has fled to the United States will be brought back to face justice,” he said.
Sheik Nafiq challenged Alvin to return to Malaysia and face the Umno Youth instead of hiding behind the safety of the Internet.
“If he’s man enough, then he should make his way home and face us (Umno Youth) without reservations,” he added.
“Don’t be a coward!” said Sheik Nafiq who accused Tan of being bold only behind the keyboard.
President of Perkasa Selangor, Abu Bakar Yahya commented that Tan’s heroic attempt on the Internet was crude, outrageous and a deliberate attempt at using social media as a platform to insult Islam, the Malays and the monarchy.
“Alvin is deliberately trying to take advantage of the tense political climate.
“This young Chinese boy is deliberately using the social media to highlight a sensitive issue which has garnered a lot of support from non-Malays,” said Abu Bakar in a statement.
He said that this act could spark racism in a multicultural country if it was not addressed immediately.
“Would Alvin dare to do something this stupid if he did not have the support of certain quarters?”
“We cannot see who is behind all this, but I believe that there is someone,” Abu Bakar reasoned.
Tan’s recent Facebook entry condemned a string of notable names including Prime Minister Najib Razak, Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar, drawing flak from all quarters.
