Criticism part of political life, says Dr M brushing off police report

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic) today shrugged off the police report lodged against him by DAP, saying politicians should be able to accept criticism.

Malaysia's longest serving prime minister said if a politician could not accept criticism, then perhaps the person should reconsider a career change.

This afternoon, Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng (DAP) lodged a report at the Sentul police headquarters against Dr Mahathir and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In his report, Lim claimed that a blog posting by Dr Mahathir on April 11, 2013 entitled "Gelang Patah" had wicked intentions to create chaos among the diverse ethnic communities in the country.

"The contents of Dr Mahathir's blog posting accused DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang of inciting the Chinese against the Malays in Johor."

Dr Mahathir, however, seemed unperturbed when asked to comment on this by reporters today at the Berjaya Times Square Convention Centre.
