SIBU: The cashier of a hypermarket here was caught on CCTV footage for stealing money from a cash register.
The man in his 20s, who has been working for a month there, had been siphoning money bit by bit to avoid detection.
When the cash register he was manning came up short of money several times, a superior checked the CCTV footage, and the cashier was nabbed for theft.
The cashier was arrested by police at 2.30pm at the premises on Friday after a police report was lodged that day.
The case is framed under Section 380 of the Penal Code. -borneopost
