The idea isn't new. My wife and I used to patronize durian stalls in Ghim Moh wet market. We brought along from home dessert bowls and cutleries. We sat down at the adjacent food center. Opened up durians and devoured them seed by seed with little folks and spoons. Some passerbys gave the odd look but at the end, we enjoyed because there weren't mess on our hands. Not exactly fine dining but at least it was civilized and first worldly. -http://forums.asiaone.com
