Malaysian woman seeks Wisma Putra's help to bring back abducted son from Pakistan.
IPOH: A mother hopes Wisma Putra will help to bring back her only child who was abducted by her husband, Mohammad Talib Abdur Rauf.
Zarena Bibi Omar Din, 37, a clerk at a public agency, said she was stressed out thinking of the fate of her son, Ziad Mohammad Talib,9,who was taken away by Mohammad Talib, 55, originally of Pakistan.
“I have not met Ziad for eight months whom I believe to be in Pakistan,” she told reporters at the Barisan Nasional Complaint and Service Centre here.
Zarena said that on Jan 31, she and Ziad were forced by her husband, an American citizen, to go to his hometown in Mansehra, Pakistan and were scheduled to return on Feb 3.
However, when they arrived at the home of Mohammad Talib’s family on Feb 2, he told her his aim was to abduct them. He also threatened to kill her.
“He threatened to kill me if I refused to hand over a house in Sunway City here, a Kembara car and ransom of RM18,000. I was also separated from my son, locked up for more than a month and banned from contacting my family,” she said.
Zarena Bibi also claimed that she was also assaulted and forced to sign two agreements in English and Urdu and was also threatened she would not be sent back to Malaysia and would die in Pakistan.
“I received a call from my husband on March 8 saying that I would be sent back home on condition I hand over the house, car and money. Two days later, I was given a flight ticket home but my son was still detained by my husband’s family there,” she added. - BERNAMA
