After passport revoked, sex blogger mocks Zahid’s ‘efficiency’

After his Malaysian passport was revoked, sex blogger Alvin Tan continued to mock Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi through a series of Facebook postings.
"Imagine if the home minister used the mind-boggling efficiency with which he revoked my passport to fight corruption and solve crime... But alas..." Tan (pic) wrote.
In another posting, Tan said he did not understand why Putrajaya had so much "semangat" (enthusiasm) to catch or react to him.
"I really do not pose a political threat whatsoever at all. Of all people, they choose to single me out," he wrote.
"It is mind-boggling to think sometimes that stupid rants I post on Facebook regularly become national news in two countries with powerful politicians getting their panties in a bunch."
Tan, now in the United States to seek politicial asylum, said it still felt surreal.
"Well, the point is, why go all out to get me?" he asked.
"Then you can display your power and show me who is the boss. But so far, you do not have the means to do s***."
Tan said when Putrajaya failed to follow up on its threats, its credibility died away little by little.
"The ministers constantly make themselves look so stupid. I am so embarrassed to even say that I am technically still Malaysian," Tan wrote.
Tan was unperturbed by his passport being revoked by the Immigration Department, which announced the move today.
He said that now that his passport had been revoked, it would trigger and expedite his application for political asylum in the US.
"Loss of passport would not mean loss of citizenship. I would be eligible for a United Nations travel document issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services."
Earlier today, Immigration Department director-general Datuk Mustafa Ibrahim announced that the passports of Tan and activist Ali Abd Jalil had been revoked with immediate effect.
"We will not tolerate any individual who insults the judiciary and Malay rulers," Mustafa told a press conference in Putrajaya today.
He said notices would be sent via registered mail to the last known addresses of Tan and Ali in Malaysia to inform them about the action, as well as announcements placed in local newspapers.
"Both individuals have also been blacklisted in our database, hence they will need special dispensation in order to return to Malaysia."
Tan is currently in Los Angeles, California while Ali is in Sweden where he has been seeking political asylum since October.
Ali faces three sedition charges for allegedly insulting the Johor royalty and the Selangor Sultan in his Facebook postings.
