A woman who allegedly harassed her neighbour was charged in a magistrate’s court with committing mischief by damaging property worth RM5,000 five days ago.
Teh Siew Lian, 46, was accused of damaging the property of a house at Wangsa Maju here at about 11am on Dec 15. Teh was charged before magistrate Ashraf Rezal Abdul Manan under Section 427 of the Penal Code yesterday.
Even though the charge was read to her in Mandarin, Teh did not seem to understand it. Ashraf Rezal then ordered Teh to be sent to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, for observation, before fixing Jan 19 for mention pending a medical report.
Norazlin Mohd Yusoff was the deputy public prosecutor while C.K. Foong appeared for Teh. On Dec 17, it was reported that a woman who has been terrorising her neighbours for several years had been arrested by police after eight reports were lodged against her.
