“It’s not right to use false analogies to belittle the PM based on a photo of him playing golf with Obama.”
KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Harmony and Religious Bureau Chairman, Ti Lian Ker, in a tit-for-tat move, has claimed that PKR President and Kajang Assemblywoman Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her husband, Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, were holidaying in New Zealand when her constituency was submerged under water recently but she was around to attend many rounds of kenduri.
“They were cycling in New Zealand while the rivers in Kajang were bursting their banks causing heavy losses to retailers,” alleged Ti in a statement.
Ti was taking issue with opposition leaders criticising Prime Minister Najib Razak for playing golf with US President Barack Obama in Honolulu, Hawaii, instead of flying back to deal with the widespread flooding in several states in the peninsula, the worst in recent memory.
“It’s politics as usual for PR when they continue to spew hate by distortion and continue to create anger against the PM who happens to be on duty, engaging with the world’s most powerful person, the US President,” said Ti. “It’s not easy to get an audience with the US President. The national interest is definitely on Najib’s agenda in Hawaii.”
“It’s not right to use false analogies to belittle the PM based on a photo of him playing golf with Obama.”
He called on opposition leaders not to play politics with the flood situation. “One PAS leader even said the floods were a sign of God’s wrath for failure to implement hudud law,” fumed Ti.
