'TELUK INTAN WILL NOT SINK' - Zamry promises has flood-control measures

TELUK INTAN - Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has denied rumours that the town here including the famous Menara Condong will sink due to flood.

He said the rumours had been circulating for the past week in social media that Teluk Intan would be hit by a major flood.

"We do not expect that to happen. As of this afternoon, there are still no signs that Teluk Intan will be flooded," he said.

Speaking to reporters after accompanying Raja Muda of Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa to visit Teluk Intan, Zambry however said the state had taken precautionary measures as more water would be flowing down from Hulu Perak.

"I urge those staying at river banks to take precautionary steps and to follow the orders of authorities on evacuation," he said. - NST
