Wan Ji Wan Hussin at the Jais office after making the report against Umno lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Afif Abd Halim, February 23, 2015.Independent preacher Wan Ji Wan Hussin and another individual, Ahmad Auzaie Arshad lodged a report with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) today, claiming Tan Sri Shafee Abdullah had wrongly accused Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
They claimed the Umno lawyer had violated shariah law and committed "qazaf", false accusation of adultery by accused Anwar, the opposition leader of sodomy without providing four witnesses as required under the state's shariah enactment.
"It is clearly a criminal offence under Section 36 of the Shariah Criminal Offences Enactment (State of Selangor) 1995," Wan Ji told reporters in front of Jais headquarters in Shah Alam this afternoon.
He and Ahmad Auzaie arrived at Jais about 3pm and were accompanied by his shariah lawyer Rifahmi Abdul Musikin.
