Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has once again defended his leadership style, saying that he is focused on developing the country and not entertain baseless allegations.
In his latest blog post as part of his May Day message, he said that in the current social media era, it was easy for issues to be spread without any limits.
"Entertaining these issues all the time will only distract my focus from my efforts to move the country forward.
Najib also highlighted Putrajaya's achievements, saying that in the last five years the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project was almost 60% ready, keys were being delivered for homes built under the PR1MA housing scheme and the Second Penang Bridge had been completed.
He added that the opening up of the economy had also resulted in the creation of 1.5 million jobs.
He added that human capital development programmes such as Tekun and others had been successful in creating a quality talent pool, adding that such transformation programmes were crucial to improving people's quality of life.
"I will continue to give explanations on issues that arise from time to time.
"But not to the point of losing focus on the responsibility that has been entrusted to me because of the issues that are  endlessly being raised," he said in his brief message.
In recent months, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has urged Najib to step down over the 1MDB scandal and the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) cash aid, and also to come clean over the 2006 murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu.
He also told Umno to remove Najib or risk losing the next general election.
However Najib, after presenting the National Transformation Programme report on Tuesday, declared that he would never back down and said that his government was transparent.
He also said that he was aware of the mounting criticism against him, but added that he would not be alone as long as his "noble goals" remained alive.
