The New Straits Times reported Sungai Besar Umno division chief as saying the rally is to protest against Kajang assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail over alleged incompetency in resolving the constituents’ woes.
“I have on three occasions met with Kajang folk, comprising Malay, Chinese and Indians who claimed they had previously supported Wan Azizah but have since felt they were cheated and were disappointed with her.
“Most of the residents claimed she had yet to resolve their flash flood woes, which cost traders hundreds of thousands of ringgit in losses,” he told the English language daily.
He added that there is also the issue of disorganised waste collection and traffic congestion.
Jamal, who was on Friday arrested overnight under Section 105 of the Criminal Procedure Code over his alleged statements that riots will occur in Petaling Street, said he will announce further details of his next gathering at a press conference on October 11.
Dr Wan Azizah contested in the seat two years ago after PKR’s Lee Chin Cheh resigned to originally make way for de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to contest, in order for him to be qualified to be the next Selangor Mentri Besar.
The plan was foiled when a swift conviction by the Court of Appeal in his second sodomy case sent Anwar to jail for the next five years.
Jamal played a prominent role in the #Merah169 rally in Kuala Lumpur on September 16, which was marred by racial insults and brief episodes of chaos.
