RACIST ACTRESS VOWS NEVER TO BUY FROM 'CHINESE' CAKE OUTLET: Outside is manned by 'our people', in the kitchen - it's 'their people'

RACIST ACTRESS VOWS NEVER TO BUY FROM 'CHINESE' CAKE OUTLET: Outside is manned by 'our people', in the kitchen - it's 'their people'
Bigots come in all shapes and sizes.
They can also come in the form of your local celebrity.
That's what netizens are labelling former actress Abby Abadi, after she questioned Secret Recipe's halal status on her Instagram posting recently, reported the Rakyat Post.
Abby, whose real name is Arbaiyah Abdul Manan, raised a stink after claiming the owner of the premise in Gua Musang was a non-Muslim.
The report, based on a posting on entertainment news portal Rotikaya.com, said the former actress had been at the outlet in Kelantan to purchase birthday cakes for her children.
"I promise in the name of God, my husband and I will never again buy cakes from Secret Recipe at Gua Musang.
"What I want to say here is, be cautious the next time you eat. Non-Muslim but halal? There are a lot of places like this. The counter is manned by our people, but in the kitchen it's their people. Who made the cake, who prepared the ingredients, who baked?" the former Gerak Khas actress posted.
All this for the mere fact that the owner of the said outlet was a non-Muslim.
Never mind the fact that Secret Recipe, which once had its halal status revoked by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), was then re-awarded the certificate by the same department.
Even then, the revocation was based on hygiene issues in the restaurant chain's main kitchen, and had nothing to do with the use of non-halal ingredients.
None of that matters to people like Abby, who through her jaundiced, bigoted views, only sees what she wants to see.
The best part is, one would assume that the moment she had doubts about the restaurant's halal status, she would have walked out and shopped for cakes elsewhere.
But that was not the case.
Buy the cake and eat it they did, according to other photos found on her Instagram account.
Didn't the thought of the cake being non-halal cross her mind when she was enjoying the cake?
Her prejudiced comment not surprisingly, attracted negative reactions from netizens, and rightfully so.
Perhaps the next time Abby eats out, she should walk into the restaurant and demand to see the manager, the cook and all the kitchen staff, to ensure the food is prepared according to the halal method.
While she's at it, she might as well ascertain that the supplier is also not a non-Muslim.
That way, she and likeminded people can dine in peace.
Face it Abby, the non-Muslims are not out to sabotage our Muslim brethren, by cooking with hands smeared with pig's blood.
Every Malaysian has his/her hands full trying to survive amid the rising cost of living, and trying to put food on their own plates.
There is hardly any time to mastermind incidents that can cause racial riots, unless one is a crony paid by certain political parties of course. - http://www.theantdaily.com/
