Man found dead in flooded home

A man was found dead, face down, in the flooded living room of his house in Taman Sri Jaya in Maran early today.District police chief DSP Mat Rizal Mat Radzi said before the incident which occurred about 3am, the 34-year-old who was with his father, in his 60s, had seen flood waters entering their house up to below knee level.

"Worried about the situation, the victim told his father to sleep in his car which was parked on higher ground.

"However, not long after that, his father found him face down in their flooded living room and called the police and hospital for help," said Mat Rizal when contacted in Maran today.

He said the medical officer who arrived at the house found the victim had already died and the post-mortem revealed that the man had died from a heart attack and not from drowning.
