ARRESTED FOR GANG ROBBERY, NAJIB’S TOP POLITICAL THUG JAMAL BLAMES IT ON ‘INVINCIBLE GAMBLING BOSSES’

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, who was arrested for alleged gang robbery, has been remanded for five days.
He was arrested yesterday in relation to raids he conducted on what he claimed to be gambling dens in Taman Kosas, Ampang on Dec 29 last year.
The five-day remand, delivered by Magistrate Mohd Firdaus Saidina Ali, will end next Tuesday, on Feb 7.
As he was led out of the Ampang Magistrate’s Court, the red-shirts leader shouted: “Tauke judi kebal (Gambling bosses are invincible).”
A small group of his supporters were also present and waited outside the courtroom during the remand proceedings.
Jamal’s lawyer Zamri Idrus said the remand was allowed as the police needed more time to complete their investigation papers.
This case is being probed under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
Those convicted under Section 395 can be jailed up to 20 years, and are liable to being whipped.
Jamal’s raids on alleged gambling dens were part of his campaign to highlight alleged failures by the opposition-led Selangor state government to curb illicit activities.
He had been warned by authorities and the police not to take the law into his own hands.
Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat later said the alleged gambling dens were licensed as family entertainment outlets and had permits from the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ).
