Three people, including two girls, died in a fire at a house in Kepong last night.
Selangor Fire and Rescue director Zamri Che Din said the three victims - Ng Zi Xuan, 10, Lam Yan Yi, eight, and foreign woman Sok Srey, 29, were found dead on the top of the double-storey terrace house in Taman Wangsa Permai, at about 11pm yesterday.
According to Bernama, three others also suffered burns in the incident. They have been identified as Shamsul Ng Abdullah, Lam Chooi Lai, 36, and Wong Ah Yin, 81.
According to Zamri, the fire, which had started on the ground floor, razed down almost 80 percent of the house.
Firefighters who were rushed to the scene following a distress call had to rescue the survivors by climbing across from the balcony of a neighbouring house, and later lowering the victims with the help of neighbours.
Bernama quoted a neighbour, Cheok Liang Pho, 58, said he shook the steel gate of the house to get the attention of the occupants when he spotted fire on the ground floor.

"The occupants woke up as the fire started to spread to the upper floor," he said.
