Shameera Krishnan had been dressing as a woman for the past eight years and was working at a florist shop in Kuantan.
KUANTAN: In what appeared to be a revenge attack, a transgender in woman’s attire was found dead with three gunshot wounds in Jalan Pasar here early today.
K Selamperasan, 27, who went by the name Shameera Krishnan, had also sustained several slash wounds in the body.
Initial police investigations revealed that the victim, from Mentakab, was attacked about 3.30am.
Kuantan police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said Selamperasan was found face down at a five-foot path shop.
“Apart from the gunshot and slash wounds, the victim also sustained injuries on the head, hands and legs,” he said when contacted here.
The body was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.
Meanwhile, the victim’s cousin, V Reenu Nair, 29, said Selamperasan, who worked at a florist shop, had taken the name, Shameera Krishnan and was living as a woman over the last eight years.
She said she was informed that about 3am, the victim had gone to buy food and to top-up her mobile phone when she was attacked. -FMT
