KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain which hit the federal capital this afternoon caused flash floods in several parts of the city, resulting in several roads being flooded.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Station operations management head Samsol Maarif Saibani said the roads flooded were Jalan Kuching, Jalan Sentul, Jalan Genting Klang, Jalan Pahang, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Loke Yew.
Also affected are Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Maarof, Taman Melati, Sg Besi, Brickfields, Batu Muda Tambahan, Wangsa Maju, Semantan and Jalan Tuanku Abd Halim.
Samsol Maarif said the rain, which fell at 5.30pm, caused overflowing of the drains due to the large volume of rainwater.
“Now the traffic situation in the federal capital is under control,” he said.
