Muslim DAP members cite Quran, tell Hadi to repent

A group Muslim DAP Youth members have urged PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to repent for describing DAP as "anak butir taik PAP" (a child from PAP's excrement)".
"Abdul Hadi should repent and feel ashamed for letting a tongue that is always reciting supplication and preaching about God to be tainted by dirty and harsh words," the group said in a statement today.
They also cited verse 125 of Surah an-Nahl from the Quran, which translate to: "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is (rightly) guided."
The DAP Youth members said they saw no "wisdom" or "goodness" in Abdul Hadi's remarks.
"We don't see any goodness or wisdom from Abdul Hadi's remarks which was very harsh, and did not fit the prophetic sunnah which he tries to practice daily," they said.
No relations to PAP
They also hoped that Abdul Hadi would seek forgiveness from God, and abandon the Islam that is full of anger, and uphold the Islam that is courteous.
The statement was signed by Selangor DAP committee member Edry Faizal, DAP Wanita assitant secretary Young Syefura Othman and Johor DAP publicity assistant secretary Sheikh Omar Ali and 12 others
Abdul Hadi had uttered the words during a speech in Terengganu last night.
He was retelling how DAP was formed from the remnants of a PAP branch in Malaysia, following the separation of Singapore from Malaysia.
The DAP Youth members said DAP and PAP had no relations other than the fact that several DAP founders were former PAP members.
"DAP and PAP are not siblings or anything like that," they said.
Remember Nik Aziz
They also expressed their pride in being members of DAP, which they said have been fighting for a free, just and peaceful country for 50 years.
"We are relieved that we were not fated to have a leader whose use disgusting words, despite frequently using religious and godly words.

"We sympathise with PAS cadres who have clearly strayed from the teachings of the late (former PAS spiritual advisor) Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat."
Tensions between DAP and PAS escalated recently after Abdul Hadi read out a motion in Parliament, seeking to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355).
DAP and PAS have been at loggerheads over the amendments. In the past, ideological differences had ended the parties' political cooperation on two occasions.- Mkini
