NOT ONLY PAS ‘KENA GAME’ BUT THE WHOLE OF MALAYSIA ALSO GOT PLAYED OUT BY UMNO: GUAN ENG HITS BULLSEYE

PAS is not the only party which has been duped by Umno when the debate on the amendments to Act 355 was deferred in Parliament last week, said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Act 355 refers to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, which PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang tabled in Parliament last Thursday.

Lim said Umno had also duped its component parties like MCA, Gerakan, MIC, Parti Bersatu Sabah and SUPP into believing that Umno would not support Act 355.

But Umno’s support for Act 355 was “crystal clear” when six important government bills were deferred to allow for amendments to Act 355 be tabled, he added.

Lim said the so-called BN consensus of the federal government not adopting Act 355, is clearly a “farce and an exercise in mass deception” of the public.

“This is where not only PAS ‘kena game’ (duped) but Malaysians ‘kena game’,” said the Penang chief minister in a statement.

Mohsin Abdullah in his column in The Edge today revealed that Umno leaders laughed at PAS – with the exact words “kena game”.

He claimed that they were duped over Hadi’s private member’s bill.

Lim said he found it astonishing that non-Umno component parties are continuing with their support for BN despite being duped and made “bloody fools”.

“Clearly the perks and privileges of government office are more important than principles. Yet, the non-Umno BN component parties try to cover up their failure by pinning the blame on the DAP,” he added.

DAP and MCA have both blamed each other for not speaking up against the bill when Hadi was tabling it in the Dewan Rakyat.
