FGV THE CORRUPTION TWIN SISTER OF 1MDB? NOT SO FAST NAJIB! SACKING ISA SAMAD & ZAKARIA NOT ENOUGH – PROBE INTO FGV MUST GO ON

NATIONAL Felda Settlers’ Children Society (Anak) wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to continue investigating Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) even though the FGV chairman Mohd Isa Abdul Samad resigned today.
Anak chairman Mazlan Aliman said MACC must bring those who could have been involved in corruption to justice.
“Regardless of any changes in FGV today, it is important for MACC to continue its probe without any distraction,” Mazlan told The Malaysian Insight.
Mazlan said Isa’s resignation today would not been possible if the suspended FGV president and CEO Zakaria Arshad had not fought back.
“I salute Zakaria. His bravery has brought about changes in FGV. If he had been a ‘yes man’ to Isa, none of this would be possible,” he said.
He added that Zakaria, who is also the son of a Felda settler, had the backing of the people of Felda.
“We also want Isa to resign from any position he holds in any of FGV subsidiaries,” he said.
Prime Minister Najib Razak today announced the resignation of Isa as chairman of FGV and that Isa would henceforth be the acting chairman of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
At FGV, Isa will be replaced by independent non-executive director Dr Sulaiman Mahbob
The second-generation Felda settlers action committee has also welcomed Isa’s resignation.
“Although I am not well acquainted with Tan Sri Sulaiman, his background shows he is a good man and has integrity. More important is that he is not a politician but is instead a government officer,” action committee chairman Zulkefli Nordin told The Malaysian Insight.
Zulkefli also thanked Najib for listening to the Felda settlers
The FGV board tussle came to public attention when Isa and the board of directors forced Zakaria, FGV chief financial officer Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha, FGV Trading CEO Ahmad Salman Omar and Delima Oil Products general manager Kamarzaman Abd Karim to on leave on June 6.
Former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Idris Jala was appointed to mediate and find solutions to the FGV crisis. Around the same time MACC also launched an investigation related to power abuse and funds misappropriation in FGV.
