‘HIS HONESTY OPENED UP MY HEART TO LOVE AGAIN’ – ZAHID’S OUTSPOKEN DAUGHTER PLAYS BLUSHING BRIDE AGAIN, ONE YEAR AFTER LOSING FIRST HUSBAND IN SUDDEN MISHAP

After a beautiful solemnisation took place in Masjid al-Haram (the Grand Mosque of Mecca) earlier today, Datuk Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff is officially the husband to Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid.
Saiful was just like any ordinary businessman striving hard to run his company – but not until he met with his now wife, Nurulhidayah, who is the daughter to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
One could say their meeting was fated, as they crossed paths in their business dealings earlier this year.
“I met her through several business-related meetings. Along the course of time, she had asked me a lot of advice about business,” he exclusively opened up to Malaysian Digest.
Although they maintained their professional relationship, the managing director of Menara Rezeki Sdn Bhd did not deny that their personal relationship slowly started to blossom.
“I realised that I wanted to take care of this woman and her kids, so I asked her what she thought about it,” said the 47-year-old.
In contrast to his new wife who is always in the limelight because of her political background, the man originally hailing from Kuala Lipis, Pahang, has a more reserved personality despite being successful in his field.
A Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) graduate, Saiful started off in the Oil and Gas sector, then moved to the construction industry, working with big names such as Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal Abu Bakar and Tan Sri Bustari Yusuf.
He later established his own business by end of 2002 – which fortunately, allowed him to meet with the bubbly Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) graduate.
“We started off with interior works then along the way got involved in building constructions. Now, our latest venture is in concession business, as well as hotels.
“I met Nurulhidayah in one of the meetings she chaired as my company was hired to do interiors for her previous company.
“Prior to our meet, I researched via Google to know all about her and her background because I had no idea who she was.”
As the meeting concluded, both parties became acquaintances and agreed to maintain their business relationship.
But after that day, the pair did not meet, until Nurulhidayah sought Saiful’s help in some business issues, which subsequently led to them attending an awards ceremony together.
“I asked him if he was free as another friend of mine bailed out on me, and he did not decline my invitation,” Nurulhidayah shared with Malaysian Digest, adding that as the night went on, things slowly sparked between them.
“During the awards night I felt something special,” Saiful agreed.

He shared how he later planned a surprise getaway to profess his love to Nurulhidayah, and ask for her hand in marriage.
“Knowing that she likes the outdoors, I carefully planned for an excursion with my entire team. We went camping for three days and two nights.
“The last day was when I proposed to her,” Saiful revealed, to which the 38-year-old then interjected, “He disconnected me from the world and proposed to me.”
Initially, Nurulhidayah was reluctant to accept Saiful’s proposal, but his honesty opened up her heart to love again after the passing of her late husband Datuk Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi in June last year.
She said it gave her a sense of assurance that he may be the man that God has destined to take care of her and her three children for the rest of her life.
“When he met with my parents to ask for my hand in marriage and they agreed, it eased the process of our relationship,” said Nurulhidayah.
“I cannot believe it. Our original plan was to break the news to our parents in Mecca, but fortunately, here we are today celebrating our marriage,” an elated Saiful shared.
“Knowing that everyone has blessed our marriage, we just hope to reap the blessings of the last days of Ramadan now,” the blushing bride confessed.
