SEAI KIE IS RIGHT! CHARGE THEM WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER – MCA LEADER CONDEMNS ‘HIDEOUS CRIME’ AGAINST STUDENT WHO WAS SODOMISED & BEATEN UP BY EX-CLASSMATES

In view of the two Penang teenagers who put their holidays to good use by getting temporary jobs but instead were ambushed by their classmates leaving one of them “brain dead” (Free Malaysia Today,  12 June 2017),  it is simply unfathomable that teenagers who had ganged up against the victims could  be so cruel, heartless and sick .

It was bad enough that they bullied the two boys in school,  but such harassment leading to sexual assault and causing the victim to be unconscious is simply unforgivable and the full arms of the law must come down hard on the perpetrators.

The two boys were subjected to such a hideous crime while their love ones must get our sympathy and support to be strong to endure through the ordeal.

The question is why are our children today could be so mean and cruel? Wanita MCA is highly concerned as there have been too many such incidents resulting even in deaths.

Is this also part of a macho culture where children are taught to despise boys who are effeminate? Such an upbringing is deplorable and reflects poorly on the parents.

In this case, it was because the boy in question is said to be effeminate. But we have a situation where boys are indulging in cruel behaviour.

It was only a week ago that we had the case of that National Defence University student who was tied and beaten up, burnt by iron and left for dead and eventually succumbed to injuries. Before that it was the case of Mohd Thaqif, although the perpetrator was the school warden.

Whatever the reason for such inhumane acts on the part of the bullies, it is unacceptable.  There is something very wrong with our society when adolescent boys descend to raping one’s male classmate besides immolating him.  It is time for us to find out the reasons and put a stop to it.

Meanwhile, Wanita MCA urges the police to upgrade the investigations to attempted murder, sodomy, assault besides the charge of “rioting” which seems too lenient. Instead, these bullies should be locked up away for good and deal with real bullies while incarcerated.

Otherwise, it will set a bad precedent / example whch may mislead the whole community especially our young generation.

As parents and seniors of society, it is our responsibility to act against or to correct any misconduct or unhealthy practices among the young to inculcate a safe, peaceful, harmonious and caring society for our next generation.
