Eight Millah Ibrahim followers arrested in Sabah

The Millah Ibrahim followers who had run away to Sabah were arrested and sent back to theKL Shariah Court for further legal action.
arifinmohdarif-mKOTA KINABALU: Eight followers of the Millah Ibrahim deviationist teachings were arrested in Sabah this year, the state legislative assembly session heard here on Tuesday.
The arrests were made through cooperation between the Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains), Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur Islamic Affairs Department (Jawi) and police, said assistant minister to the chief minister Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif.
“Eight followers of the Millah Ibrahim deviationist teachings were arrested after they had run away to Sabah,” said Arifin while answering a question from Abd. Muis Picho (Umno/Sebatik)
“They have been taken to the Kuala Lumpur Shariah court for further legal action.”
Arifin also said small Qadiani groups can be found in Sandakan, Beaufort, Kota Marudu and Kota Kinabalu, while Hizbut Tahrir followers are present in Sandakan.
“The activities of these groups are being monitored by Jheains, police and the Publication and Al-Quran Text Control Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs and related agencies,” he said.
The Sabah State Fatwa Council, according to Arifin, has issued an edict against 16 teachings which have been found to have deviated from the Al Sunnah Wal Jamaah creed.
“Among them are Qadiani, Al Arqam, Hizbut Tahrir, Millah Ibrahim, Syiah, Tal Tujuh, Tarikat Hasaniah, Tariqat Naqsyabandiah al Aliyah, Nasrul Haq, Zikir Hasan Rimau, Kumpulan Awang Rezki, liberalism, pluralism and more.
“Muslims in Malaysia follow the Al Sunnah Wal Jamaah principle which espouses moderation and any teachings deviating from this creed cannot be practised in Sabah and the country,” he said. - FMT
