Selangor Pakatan Harapan chairperson Mohamed Azmin Ali said organisers of this Saturday's anti-kleptocracy rally are in talks with the police over the matter.
“I have not received any further information on the discussions but they (discussions) are being held for the rally to be held at Padang Timur.
“Discussions are being held to ensure that the rally will not disturb nearby residents and cause traffic congestion in the area,” said Azmin, who is also Selangor menteri besar, after launching the Selangor Innovation Appreciation Ceremony 2017 in Shah Alam yesterday.
He said this to reporters when asked about the advice of inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun to change the location of the rally to Kelana Jaya Stadium to facilitate police control.
On Wednesday, police refused to allow the rally to be held at Padang Timur based on security factors, and reports lodged by local residents who objected to the rally being held in the area.
