Dr M to hold weekly talks on 'Najib making mistakes every second'

Starting next week, Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be holding weekly policy talk sessions.

Apart from explaining the opposition coalition's policies, the talks, dubbed “Harapan Baru; (Policy Talks)”, will also focus on the alleged mistakes of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"Najib has made a lot of mistakes, almost every second. We are here to comment on all those mistakes.

"That is why we launched 'Harapan Baru; (Policy Talks)', new hope for the country. We believe that we have a lot to contribute in fulfilling the hope of Malaysians," he told reporters in Putrajaya this morning.

Mahathir cited the cancellation of the Integrated Manasik Monitoring System (Imams) and Felda scandal as among the reasons for the talks to be held.

According to the former premier, Harapan also has plans on how to deal with the problems stemming from Najib's leadership.

"We have a plan to deal with the problems created by Najib, including selling this country piece by piece to others. We have a plan to revive the economy, ringgit and to rebuild the country,” he said.

Mahathir stressed the importance of portraying Harapan as a government-in-waiting instead of merely voicing dissenting views.

He said various approaches would be adopted for the weekly talks, including holding dialogues, town hall meetings and the use of social media.

Turning his focus to Najib's National Transformation 2050 (TN50) blueprint, Mahathir described this as a “fair copy” of his Vision 2020 brainchild.

"TN50 is an admission of how the country failed to complete Vision 2020 and they need another 32 years to accomplish it.

"As for us, we have ways to make the Vision 2020 a success, perhaps it might be a bit delayed,” he added.- Mkini
