PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has slammed “rich” Arab leaders who are allegedly trying to buy out Palestinian claim on Jerusalem.
“There are Arab leaders who are rich, but who are poor in the soul. They encourage Palestinians to hand Jerusalem to the Jews. But the Palestinians reject this.
“Muslims must realise Jerusalem belongs to the Muslim community. They offered billions of dollars to Palestinian leaders, but as Muslims, they did not accept it and won’t easily bow down to Israel,” he told thousands who attended the Himpunan Munajat MyAQSA rally at Dataran Putrajaya last night.
He urged Muslims to be united so that Palestine would not give in to Israel.
The PAS president said Muslims worldwide, from Morocco to Indonesia and Malaysia, were behind Palestine and their struggle was in all their hearts.
“Our gathering tonight is not just to express our sadness over their plight, but to help them overcome their hardships,” he added.
The event started at 2pm, with a series of speeches, prayers and performances.- Mkini
