DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today claimed the party will not forget jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
This comes ahead of the expected announcement from Harapan that Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be its prime ministerial candidate with Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as his running mate at the coalition's second convention today.
"The combination of Mahathir, Anwar along with the rest of us is able to offer a strong alternative to challenge Barisan Nasional.
"I want to state here that the party (DAP) is always with Anwar," he said during his speech at the Harapan convention in Shah Alam today.
"We will not forget him, but now, we need to oust BN, which has PAS as its new friend, (so) we need to gather every ounce of strength we have in order to succeed," he said without elaborating.
DAP together with its allies in Harapan had previously supported Anwar as the prospective prime minister if the opposition takes power.
Meanwhile, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu said the coalition will embark on a tour to propagate the various corruption scandals surrounding the ruling administration.
This campaign will also counter the negative message against Harapan, including DAP, which is often painted as anti-Islam and anti-Malay by the government.
