A lawyer is BN's choice to stand in Bandar Tun Razak

GE14 | BN is expected to field Umno Youth leader Adnan Abu Seman to contest for the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat, said an Umno source.
"Yes, he was told to get his candidate appointment letter this weekend," the source from Bandar Tun Razak Umno division added.
The source said that on April 17, BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor had met Adnan, 42, and other candidates who will be contesting in the Federal Territories and offered them some advice.
When contacted, Adnan, who is a lawyer, declined to confirm his candidacy.
"I can only speak (about this) after Sunday," he told Malaysiakini.
When asked whether BN chairperson Najib Abdul Razak will issue appointment letters to candidates on Sunday, he said: "Yes.'
Earlier, Bandar Tun Razak division deputy chief Saharudin Zainal Abidin confirmed that his division proposed Adnan, who is also Persiaran Kilang Umno Branch Youth chief, as the candidate for the federal seat.
MCA contested in Bandar Tun Razak in last three elections but lost the seat to PKR in 2008 and 2013. It prompted Bandar Tun Razak Umno division chief Rizalman Mokhtar to openly demand that the seat is returned to Umno.
Rizalman himself was heavily touted to contest the seat until his arrest in a joint MACC and police operation. He initially tested positive for drugs but was subsequently cleared
Sources in Umno had previously told Malaysiakini that the party planned to field its Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in the constituency. However, Sharizat turned down the offer.
Tengku Adnan had admitted that Bandar Tun Razak and Wangsa Maju were MCA seats, but said that his party would adopt a "take one, give one" approach.
Speculation has been rife that BN may parachute an outsider in for the Wangsa Maju seat.
Several leaders have been named, including Wangsa Maju Umno chief Mohd Shafei Abdullah, incumbent Setiawangsa MP Ahmad Fauzi Zahari and former federal territories minister Zulhasnan Rafique. -Mkini
