Malaysian student dies in Bali road crash

Final year medical student V Tharshine was with two friends who had come for a holiday.
Malaysian student V Tharshine, who died in a road crash in Bali, yesterday.
PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian medical student in Bali, Indonesia was killed after her motorcycle crashed into a stalled lorry.
V Tharshine, 24, a final year medical student at Universitas Udayana, was travelling with two friends from her hostel to Denpasar when their motorcycle rammed into the stalled lorry on the road shoulder at 6.45pm local time, yesterday.
It is understood that Tharshine, who hails from Sri Muda, Shah Alam, died on the spot due to severe head injuries.
Her two friends, who were in Bali for a holiday, were injured. One of them is in critical condition and being treated at the Sanglah general hospital in Denpasar, while the other escaped with minor injuries. Tharshine’s remains are being kept at the same hospital.
Attempts to contact the Malaysian embassy in Indonesia were unsuccessful but it is understood that an embassy staff is at the hospital to assist the victim’s family. -FMT
