Almost seven hours later, Najib comes out of MACC hq

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak today spent close to seven hours at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, where he was questioned on the SRC International issue
Najib walked out of the building about 4.45pm and told reporters that the MACC has finished recording his statement in connection with investigations into the RM42 million from SRC International being transferred into his personal bank account.
"I have answered all the questions to the best of my ability.
"The MACC has performed its duties in a professional manner. They (the officers) said the session to record (my) statement has been completed," Najib said.
He had arrived at the building in a white Toyota Vellfire with the registration plate QMN 11 about 9.45am and went in without speaking to reporters.
This is the former prime minister's second session with the MACC this week.
On Tuesday, Najib was questioned for about five hours on the RM42 million from SRC International being transferred into his personal bank account.
During the first session, which came in the wake of police raiding residences of people linked to Najib and recovering RM120 million in cash and RM200 million worth of jewellery and other items, there was intense speculation that he could be arrested.
Najib was first summoned to the MACC headquarters on May 18 for questioning on the former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International.
The company had transferred RM42 million, through several intermediaries, into Najib’s personal bank account between December 2014 and February 2015.
However, outgoing attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali had previously cleared Najib of any wrongdoing, saying there is no evidence of graft and that Najib was unaware that the money came from SRC International.
According to Apandi at the time, Najib had thought that the RM42 million was part of the RM2.6 billion donation that supposedly came from a Saudi prince. - Mkini
